Route 66 Bridge

We were on our way home from Stillwater last weekend, we decided to take a stretch oh the "Mother Road" Route 66 from Claremore as far east as we could. The small towns and roadside scenery made it worthwhile. Sometimes you just have to get off the interstate. This small bridge was a side stop along the way. Apparently it was part of 66 back in the 1920s for a few years until traffic was routed around town. Still in use today but just a few cars pass over every day.

The sun had been out as we passed it I did my usual. "man Ive got to stop there".. and did a u-turn, even though the sun disappeared behind the clouds I was not disappointed.
