I came across this great site "Prairie Poetry", I thought I'd share one.
Summer in Kansas
cold wind,cold wind
I feel you in my hand.
You play my fingers
invisible old man.
I smell you
in this summer evening,
mixing fog and mist
for the trees
and shading sunsets
so my friend may
breathe this coming night
deep.
You teach us cows
skunks,dew laden hay...
to love kansas.
With your
song of scents
and quite cold,
you give us home.

Excellent Sky Watch images!
Really gorgeous skies in Kansas! Like the poem you included, too, but...I would never have thought of Kansas as being cold in the summer!! (have not been there, though)
Now, I have a whole new appreciation of KS in my mind. What lovely sky photos.
Lovely photos of Kansas! It's such a wonderful and fun place to go! Love the poem you picked to show with them! Great job!

Excellent series of photos for a great SWF post. Well done!
I love your wide open Kansas skies although with all those clouds they seemed more crowded than usual.
Very beautiful withall and that poem to go with them.
A beautiful series of sky pictures and a wonderful poem.
Howdy. I found your blog on Kerri's "A Little Piece of Me..." You have a nice place here. I particularly enjoy the variety you have.
My First Wife and I live in E. Kansas, too; just not SE KS. We live near The Big City. Stop by our house or stop by my blog. It's not all that far from yours.
I'll be back here.
Wow, these are great. I missed them on Friday. It's so hard to get around to everyone but I'm glad I got to see them.
