Last week I shared some photos that might not have looked at all like Kansas. This week is more traditionally Kansan. South east Kansas is a land of gravel roads, and small towns that once served as centers of rural farm communities mixed in with the old mining 'camps'.
This time of year the ravel roads are lined with fields of soybeans and corn ready to harvest. White tail deer begin the rut soon and are seen more and more at times of day other than dawn and dusk.
Theres always something down the road here in South East Kansas.

Love all the colors in your Kansas scenes. We have farm parts of New Jersey that look a bit like that. You have really captured the beauty of the landscape.

Lovely photos..my daughter was offered a job in Kansas last month so I was doing some research. But she decided to come back to NY state..
I can hardly wait to see what is just around the bend in Kansas.
It looks alot like my part of NW Oklahoma, in fact I had to check it was SE and not SW!
Good to hear that Kansas grows corn and soy beans which fx nitrogen in the soil and therefore must be a great rotation crop. We love down a dirt road and love it. Great photos and very interesting too.
