Random photographic thoughts

Random images taken while wandering around Chanute the other day.
The older buildings have such a character that seems different from the lack of character that we see in many modern structures.

I love taking photos of old brick buildings, they have an abstract quality that appeals to me. While in Taos we saw an exhibit of work by the actor Dennis Hopper which included some really beautiful images of walls from various cities, a million time better than mine but I had fun taking these just the same.

This could easily be the UK with those red brick walls of industrial towns I'm so familiar with. Dennis Hopper has become an excellent photographer over the years. These are better than you think. Really vibrant.

Signs of more stable times when it was worth painting an advert onto brickwork. These are lovely poignant shots.

Great photos! I love the faded lettering - bearing witness to another time. The arches and intense color of the windows and door frames have that architectural sensuality to them.

You're right - the old brick buildings, besides character, have an air of permanence. Not likely to be blown away by a twister. The photos are lovely.
